As she got up to go to the kitchen, she sank down on to the soft mattress again. She was sure that mother-in-law and daughter-in-law were engaged in a deep conversation about her, right then. She didn’t want to eavesdrop on them, knowing that she would be the topic of their heart-to-heart talk!
She felt restless. She desperately wanted to talk to someone. Pour out her feelings. Misgivings. Previously, Sharon was her 3 a.m. friend. Now she was all alone.
After what seemed like an eternity, she slept like a baby.
The next day at sharp 10, Ritesh picked her up and headed out to the beach. It was warm and humid hence Yogita had worn black and white striped, cotton, knee-length palazzos and a peach colored top with a straw hat borrowed on an impulse, from Sharon. She wore her hair in a loose ponytail. No make-up. No accessories. She had only a small sling-bag containing her mobile, wallet and handkerchief. She wore comfortable slip-ins so that she could just slip them off whenever she felt like entering the water.
Ritesh had worn cotton chinos of a tan shade with a mustard- colored T-shirt and had a peaked cap rakishly placed on his thick mane. Open sandals completed the picture. He looked relaxed and carefree. None of the turmoil of the previous day showed on his handsome face.
Both wore trendy glares. She, a Seafarer and he, a Rayban! As they started walking towards the frothy waves, people stopped right on their tracks, stricken by their gorgeous looks. What a pair? They looked like a match made in heaven!
Only one thing seemed out of place. The man and the lady walked slightly apart, not hand in hand as they showed in the ads and movies. Were they there for a shooting? If so, they’d certainly wait for a dekko!
